About me

A few words about me

I'm a husband, dad, professional photographer, video producer, and now a 3D artist and animator. I love science fiction and history. I have a brown dog named Blue and a cat named Winston Covfefe Diabeeto Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho Betz.

I've been a video producer and cinematographer since the late 1990's. In 2000 I ventured into the world of photography, starting with weddings and corporate events. I never looked back and over the past 25 years have been part of hundreds of events across the United States and Europe. In 2020, amid the Covid lockdown that completely killed the wedding and events industry, I found myself with a lot of free time so I began tinkering with 3D animation. At first I used a program called iClone but switched to Blender eventually. My experience with video editing gave me a good foundation so I was able to easily wrap my head around the idea of keyframes and timelines. But I was never content with creating animations using models other people created but didn't feel I had the skills to actually create my own models. When things began to return to normal in 2021, my "studies" slowed down dramatically but in 2023 I began watching YouTube videos on the basics of 3D modeling and absorbed as much as I could. By early 2024 I felt it was time to really try to create something. I started with the bridge of the Enterprise from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. After some 50 hours of toiling in Blender and Photoshop I released my first video on YouTube and it was a big hit. People loved what I had created and the overwhelming support from the Star Trek fan community on YouTube motivated me to keep going. Just a few months later, I secured a contract with a studio in the UK to develop a new ship for Star Trek Online, a massive multi-player online game! So I guess you could say these are my Continuing Voyages! Welcome aboard and thanks for being a part of my journey!
